1. What is the Harvard Club of the Netherlands?
The Harvard Club of the Netherlands is a private, members-only club that operates on behalf of Netherlands based alumni of Harvard, Harvard graduate schools, and their families. The Club’s purpose is to provide opportunities to pursue common interests with fellow alumni in the Netherlands. The Club is established and run independently from the Harvard Alumni Association, though strong connections to the HAA are maintained.
2. Who is eligible to become a member of the club?
Graduates of Harvard College and other schools of Harvard University are eligible to join (including those who attended short programmes). Guest membership is open to those with a close connection to Harvard, at the discretion of the Board.
3. How do I become a member?
Navigate to the “Sign Up” section of our website and follow the link under “How to join?”. Follow the instructions and after your fee is received, you will officially become a member.
4. What are the benefits of joining?
By joining the Harvard Club of the Netherlands, you will have the opportunity to attend intellectually stimulating events, network with fellow Dutch alumni and be able to stay up-to-date with new developments at Harvard. You will also become a part of a vibrant community of like-minded individuals and be will easily be able to take part in our various outreach initiatives.
Moreover, some events might be restricted to members of the Club only and you will have priority when events have a limited capacity. You will also have a discounted (member’s) price for some events held by our Club.
5. Are there designated club facilities?
HCN does not have a club house. Club events take place at a variety of venues in the Netherlands.
6. What is the membership year?
Membership runs from January 1 to December 31.
7. How can I pay for membership?
Members may pay by wire transfer. Details can be found here.
